Who receives the sign-up voucher
Unlike with the new customer voucher, the order history plays no role here. The only deciding factor is whether the person has ever registered in the newsletter system before.
What kind of voucher is created
The sign-up voucher is a separate type in the voucher generator with fixed properties. The following points cannot be configured.Because the vouchers are only created at the moment of sign-up, a validity of “X days from creation” is usually more sensible here than a fixed end date. A fixed date means that a prospect who signs up late receives a voucher with only a few days left.
Prerequisites
For the sign-up voucher, both modules must be activated for your shop: the voucher generator and the E-Marketing-Manager. Contact your WEBSALE representative to do so.If the vouchers come from an external system and are therefore not in WEBSALE format, add the entry
ExternalVouchers-Allow = yes in the <Voucher-Txt> section of the shop.config.Step 1: Creating the sign-up voucher
In the online service area, create a newsletter sign-up voucher in the voucher generator and specify for which subshops it should be valid.Step 2: Activating generation and creating the email
In the E-Marketing-Manager, under Settings, activate the generation of vouchers for newsletter sign-up. The E-Marketing-Manager then automatically creates an email for sending the voucher under Administration mails, which you can edit freely.Step 3: Displaying the voucher data in the shop (optional)
In addition to the email, the voucher data can be displayed in the shop immediately after sign-up. The prospect then sees their code without waiting for the email. Add the following section to the ExternInclude area for target group managementincl_newsletter.htm, within {E-NL-SEC-subscribe}. If the voucher should also appear in the subscriber’s management view, additionally add it within {E-NL-SEC-manage}.
The loop over the subshops is worthwhile as soon as the voucher is not valid everywhere. The comparison with a fixed subshop ID as a parameter,
desktop in the example, distinguishes between “redeemable here” and “only redeemable elsewhere”. Without this distinction, some recipients will try to enter the code in the wrong subshop.Sending vouchers to existing subscribers
No separate setup is required for this. Create the vouchers as usual in the voucher generator and insert the code into your newsletter mailing in the E-Marketing-Manager.A universal voucher with a limited number of redemptions is suitable for such a mailing, because all recipients then receive the same code and you can still cap the scope of the campaign.
