With the technical provisioning of your WEBSALE shop, you already receive a fully functional online shop. This page shows you the first steps: where to edit the configurations, how to obtain your shop’s templates, and how to open your shop for the first time.

Configurations in the Online-Servicebereich

Basic configurations have already been carried out in your online shop. To edit these basic configurations and further configurations, WEBSALE V8s provides you with a simple and intuitive interface. This interface is referred to below as the “Online-Servicebereich” or “OSB” for short. You can find further information under Basics of Configurations and Working with the Online-Servicebereich.

Templates, styles, and JavaScript

For the construction of your individual shop pages, WEBSALE V8s already provides you with a complete set of templates (HTML templates), styles, and JavaScript files. With them, you give your shop not only an attractive design but also its functions and content. This gives you full control at all times over the appearance, the presentation of your products, and all the information in your shop. The edited templates are transferred to the shop server via SFTP. You can find further information under Basics of Templates. Maintenance of product data (products, descriptions, categories, and so on) is carried out — if available — via a connected merchandise management system or with the help of the WEBSALE Produkt Manager (WSP-Manager). The WSP-Manager runs on all Windows systems. You can find further information under Working with the WSP-Manager.
You can also use the WSP-Manager to transfer templates to the server. However, we recommend transferring them via SFTP. This way, if responsibilities are separated in your company (product maintenance and design), you can also maintain the product data and templates via separate processes.
To edit the templates, styles, and JavaScript files, you first need to download this data. There are two options for doing so, which we introduce in the following sections. Afterwards we show you how to open your shop for the first time.

Downloading via SFTP

Once you are connected to your shop server via an SFTP program, you will see the directory structure of your shop. You can find further information under Directory structure of a shop.

Downloading via WSP-Manager

Install the WEBSALE Produkt Manager on your local system. When you start the software for the first time, the provided template shop is automatically copied from the WEBSALE server to your PC. You can now design this template shop according to your requirements and fill it with your product range. All changes you make in the WEBSALE Produkt Manager are transferred to the WEBSALE server with a mouse click. If a merchandise management system is connected via a suitable interface, the product data from the merchandise management system can be transferred to the shop automatically. In this case, the WEBSALE Produkt Manager is no longer used for product maintenance but rather forms the middleware for data transfer to the shop. After the WSP-Manager has transferred your template shop from the WEBSALE server to your PC, you will find the directory structure of your shop in the installation directory. Opening your shop for the first time

Immediately after your WEBSALE online shop has been provisioned, you can already open it online. This is possible because we provide a subdomain under websale.biz for every shop. Open your shop for the first time:
