On the banner overview page wsaffiluser_banners_deu.htm, the partner sees all advertising materials that the shop operator has provided for them and copies the finished source code for their own website. All tags on this page are only permitted there. The framework is always the same: AFFILUSER-BannersData brackets the entire range and, as a loop, provides one iteration per banner. Everything else describes the banner of the current iteration. Guide: Running your own affiliate program

The framework of the banner list

The source code belongs in a read-only textarea. There it remains as text instead of being executed by the browser, and the partner can select it in one go.
Use the SSL variants AFFILUSER-BannersHtmlFragmentSSL and AFFILUSER-BannersThumbnailUrlSSL throughout. If the partner embeds the banner on their encrypted page via an unencrypted address, browsers block it as mixed content and the advertisement does not appear at all.

The list

AFFILUSER-BannersData

As a single tag, the number of available banners; as a range tag, the bracket around the entire list; as a loop, one iteration per banner.
The negative range is part of it. An affiliate program regularly starts without banners, and an empty page without explanation looks like an error.

AFFILUSER-BannersPaging

Generates the complete paging function as a table. As a range tag, it only applies if there is more than one page.
The table is generated by the shop. You can style it via the assigned classes:

AFFILUSER-BannersPerPage()

Defines how many banners are displayed per page. Without this tag, it is 5.
The tag does not output anything; it only sets a value. It therefore belongs before the list and is usually placed in an HTML comment so that it remains clear in the source code where the setting is located.

AFFILUSER-BannersIDX

Outputs the index of the banner. It identifies the banner within the affiliate program.

Labels and notes

AFFILUSER-BannersCaption

Outputs the heading or description of the banner that was stored in the online service area.
For a graphical banner, this is the text of the title attribute; for a text banner, it is the label itself. The meaning therefore changes with the banner type.

AFFILUSER-BannersComment

Outputs the shop operator’s comment on this banner, for example a note about its intended use.

AFFILUSER-BannersDescr

Outputs the description of the banner.

AFFILUSER-BannersBannerType

Outputs the banner type as a number: 0 for a graphical banner, 1 for a text banner or text link.
For display purposes, the three range tags below are the better choice. You mainly need the number for troubleshooting.

AFFILUSER-BannersBannerTypeGraph

The range is displayed if the banner is a graphical banner.

AFFILUSER-BannersBannerTypeText

The range is displayed if the banner is a text banner.

AFFILUSER-BannersBannerTypeFlash

The range is displayed if the banner is a Flash banner.
Flash is no longer executed by any current browser. Do not create new banners of this type. In the template, the bracketing is only worthwhile for marking legacy banners as no longer usable.

AFFILUSER-BannersTargetType

Outputs the type of the advertised object as a number: 0 for advertising the subshop, 1 for advertising a product.

AFFILUSER-BannersTargetTypeSubShop

The range is displayed if the banner advertises a subshop.

AFFILUSER-BannersTargetTypeProduct

The range is displayed if the banner advertises a product. Within this bracket, the product details are filled.

AFFILUSER-BannersTargetTypeCategory

The range is displayed if the banner advertises a category. As a single tag, it additionally outputs the category.
The three target tags are mutually exclusive. Therefore, write them next to each other rather than nested, as shown in the framework above.

AFFILUSER-BannersSubShop

Outputs the subshop the banner links to.

AFFILUSER-BannersProdIndex

Outputs the product index of the advertised product.

AFFILUSER-BannersProdName

Outputs the name of the advertised product.

AFFILUSER-BannersProdNumber

Outputs the product number of the advertised product.

Images and source code

AFFILUSER-BannersFile

Outputs the file name of the banner image.

AFFILUSER-BannersThumbnail

Outputs the file name of the preview image of an advertised product.

AFFILUSER-BannersThumbnailUrl

Outputs the complete image path of the preview image.

AFFILUSER-BannersThumbnailUrlSSL

Like AFFILUSER-BannersThumbnailUrl, but as an encrypted address. This is the variant you should use.

AFFILUSER-BannersImageUrl

Outputs a link to the banner.
This tag is deprecated. For the image, use AFFILUSER-BannersThumbnailUrlSSL, and for the finished embed code, use AFFILUSER-BannersHtmlFragmentSSL.

AFFILUSER-BannersHtmlFragment

Outputs the finished source code that the partner embeds on their website. It already contains the partner ID so that orders can be attributed.

AFFILUSER-BannersHtmlFragmentSSL

Like AFFILUSER-BannersHtmlFragment, but with encrypted addresses. This is the variant you should offer.

Creating custom banners

AFFILUSER-DynamicBanner

Returns the link to the page where the partner can create a banner for any product themselves.
The bracketing is necessary because the function is not enabled in every affiliate program. Without it, a link that leads nowhere would appear there.
