This documentation describes the activation and configuration of the WEBSALE | search module, the provision of the necessary data, and the integration of the search function into the templates of a WEBSALE online shop. The module enables a powerful product search with filter and sort options that are implemented directly in the storefront via flexible WebComponents.

Activating the module

Placing the order and activation

The activation of the search module is done via the WEBSALE ordering portal. Please follow these steps:
  1. Log in to the WEBSALE ordering portal.
  2. Select the request “WEBSALE|search”.
  3. Fill in the request completely.
    Activation only takes place after the request has been successfully processed by WEBSALE.

Usage options at activation

When activating the search module, the following usage options are available. You can flexibly choose which functions you want to use:
  1. Only search results with suggest function and after-search navigation:
  • This option activates the search module exclusively for displaying search results.
  • It contains the suggest function (automatic suggestions during input) and the after-search navigation (filter and sort options displayed after the search).
  1. Only filter and sort functions in categories:
  1. Combined use:
  • You can activate the search module for both search with suggest function and after-search navigation, and the filter and sort functions in categories.
Important!
When submitting the request, please clearly state which of the above options you want to use. Each option can be activated individually or in combination.
