# Age-restricted products

> How to set an age restriction in WEBSALE V8s via the AgeRestricted product field and what the shop can do with it.

Many products are subject to an age restriction, an age rating, or an age recommendation. Typical examples are:

* books
* games, both mechanical and electronic
* films
* alcoholic drinks
* tobacco products
* knives and other products from the weapons category

## The AgeRestricted field

For such products, you store in the WSPManager the age from which the purchase or the recommendation is permitted. The `AgeRestricted` field is provided for this.

The product is therefore suitable from age 16, recommended from age 16, or may be sold from age 16. Which of the three meanings applies depends on the product and on the applicable legal situation. The shop evaluates the value as a number and does not make this distinction itself.

## What the shop can do with it

The stored value can be used in three places. The first two concern the product lists, the third concerns shipping.

| Feature | Description |
| - | - |
| Sorting | Sort products by age in ascending or descending order |
| Filtering | Show only products from a certain age, for example from 16 years |
| "Eigenhändig Plus" shipping method | The delivery agent checks the ID card and thereby verifies whether the recipient is allowed to accept the ordered goods |

The first two points only affect the display. Only the "Eigenhändig Plus" shipping method ensures that the goods actually reach the correct recipient.
