# Default texts

> Which texts WEBSALE V8s inserts by itself at runtime, in which sections of the shop configuration they are located, and how to define your own free texts.

With WEBSALE V8s you have complete control over all texts displayed in the shop. This applies even when these texts are not fixed in a template but are instead inserted dynamically by WEBSALE V8s at runtime.

Texts can be placed statically directly in templates and configurations. However, we recommend that all text maintenance be performed via the text maintenance platform in order to simplify editing and to ensure consistent handling.

The following default texts are predefined in WEBSALE V8s and can be extended or changed.

## Texts for notification and success messages

Important messages that inform the buyer that a particular function cannot be executed are defined in the shop configuration `shop.config` in the `<NotifyMessages-Txt>` section; various standard messages are defined in the `<StandardMessages-Txt>` section.

## Texts for headings

All default headings predefined in the shop system can be modified in the shop configuration `shop.config` in the `<Captions-Txt>` section.

## Texts for buttons

All labels of default buttons predefined in the shop system are defined in the shop configuration `shop.config` in the `<Buttons-Txt>` section and can be changed there.

## Texts for time indications

All texts predefined in the shop system for time indications, which are used with some input and output elements, are defined in the shop configuration `shop.config` in the `<Times-Txt>` section and can be changed there.

## Define free default texts

You can store up to 100 freely definable texts that can be used any number of times on all templates. This is useful, for example, if you offer your shop in several languages and therefore do not want to use static texts in the templates.

Another use case is when the same text is needed on several templates and needs to be centrally updatable, for example a copyright line or a text for particular occasions such as Easter, Christmas, or donation appeals.

### Procedure

In the first step, you define the default texts in the shop configuration `shop.config` in the `<FreeMessages-Txt>` section.

You can then reference the text in your templates. To do this, insert a tag at the relevant places, consisting of the prefix `FMSG-` followed by the parameter name of the text stored in the shop configuration `shop.config`.

Example: In the shop configuration `shop.config`, you have defined a text with the parameter name `MyText`.

```ini theme={"theme":{"light":"github-light","dark":"github-dark"},"languages":{"custom":["/languages/websale.json"]}}
<FreeMessages-Txt>
   MyText = Dies ist mein Text
</FreeMessages-Txt>
```

You can integrate the text stored for the parameter `MyText` into any template using the single tag `FMSG-MyText`. WEBSALE V8s then replaces this tag at runtime with the text "Dies ist mein Text".
