# Activate or deactivate the shop

By default, a new shop is automatically active to begin with. You can also temporarily deactivate a shop or place it into general test mode.

This is controlled in the shop configuration `shop.config` in the `<Basic>` section via the parameter `ShopActive-Allow`.

| Value | Effect |
| - | - |
| no entry | The shop is active. This is the default setting. |
| `no` | The shop is temporarily deactivated. |
| `test` | The shop runs in general test mode and can only be reached after entering the test mode password. |

Example: Set the parameter `ShopActive-Allow` to `no` if you want to deactivate the shop temporarily.

   ShopActive-Allow = no
